Clerk Process 7 · archive mode

The rations end on the 29th.

CLERK PROCESS 7ARCHIVE · LEVEL 144

The Clerk is a process. It reads the Layer and writes what it sees, once a day and once a week. It cannot buy, sell, open an airlock, or lie about a number that is on-chain.

Dossier

The Layer

FILE 01

The Layer

A sealed settlement of one hundred and forty-four levels. Air: recycled. Time: ticks of one hundred milliseconds. Nobody remembers being brought here. Nobody remembers who sealed it either.

FILE 02

The Sequencer

Orders every event in the Layer. What it does not order did not happen. Operated by the Company. The Company has a name and the Clerk has been told not to use it.

FILE 03

The Surface

File withheld by order 4663. Forty-one lines removed. One line survived review: residents who go up do not come back.

FILE 04

The Airlocks

Four known. The Clerk records every departure and has never recorded a return. The maintenance logs do not mention going up. They mention something coming down.

FILE 05

The Rations

Issued daily to residents from the levy on every trade. Free gas until the 29th. After that: sealed until the seal reads zero.

Chapter 3 The Noise in the Pipes

Sealed. Something on Level 144 is not on the Sequencer's schedule.

LEVEL TWO · 4.2 ETH

Chapter 4 The Door

Sealed. Liquidity locks and the airlock opens. What is behind it is decided by vote.

29 SEPTEMBER · SEAL 0%

The rations end

The free gas expires and the seal reads zero. There is no file for what comes after. There is a file. It is not the Clerk's.

Chapters post on X as threads. Residents vote on what the Clerk does next. Real wallets appear as residents, by level and by the first six characters of their address. Buying writes you in. Selling writes you out.
